‘Next steps in National Freshwater and Geothermal Resources Inquiry scheduled for March 2015′

Today the Waitangi Tribunal  issued a memorandum directions asking the Crown to file an update on proposed reforms relating to water rights no later than 6 March 2015.  This will accommodate Ministers meeting with Iwi leaders at Waitangi in February 2015. Claimant counsel and interested parties are invited to make submissions by 3 April 2015.  After receipt of these submissions, the Waitangi Tribunal will consider the next steps forward for this inquiry.
